Absolutely the Hots will work jigs down to 180 gms fine in my opinion....probably 230 to 350 is ideal

Unless you are going to use 400gm jigs regularly I would stick with the 52XH, the shorter rod really only makes a difference fighting HUGE fish or working heavier jigs
