As far as I am aware, Taipans are a metal slice and are virtually identical to Shimano's Raider. They still have a strong following in Central Qld. My Yeppoon fishing mate uses them regularly for spanos.

Hi.
Primary target for me up here are Spanno's and Cobes.
Occasional reefies (Pinkies and Fingermark).
I use wire leaders around 6 in. on all my lures and jigs.
But I twist one end of wire. Slide a length of JB hollow over it twist other end of wire .
then slide that end of JB up over that. with a little bit of epoxy to hold it on the twists..
Stops both the look and any Electrical impulses some say you get t'ween it and water.
Smaller fish I just use 200lb Fluoro. or Penn 10 leader.
