Hi Andy ,

I am going to the rivers of East Borneo next week so P.Ratu will have to wait till after I return , hopefully I don't miss the buffalo tuna runs . I have a few rods to flex myself but will bring my dedicated tuna rod OMA92 , haven't been able to push this rod due to missing the big tuna these few years .

As for the bar , will call you .

Jon .

you want a popping or stickbait rod or both?
What weight line do you want to fish?
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Mick, as I wrote, it depends on what weight you want to fish. For example, no point using a SP78UHL if you're fishing PE6

Mick - big range you have specified there. Stickbait rods stop at PE8. My choice is the TBL711 RF35. Another option is the CV79 RF40 but for a pure stickbait rod, I prefer the TBL.

Poppind rod - for PE8, I like the SP80M. PE10 to 12, SP78EXH or UHL.

The Long Reef is well named because it is meant for long range casting needs.
This is not the type of rod we tend to use here and I think this rod was designed with locations like the Maldives in mind. I think this rod would be good as a shore based GT rod but if you were seriously looking at a shore based rod, you should look at the specialist rods made for this.
