Hi Brandon ,

Late last year when this happened and these guys are experienced GT anglers too and beside , SR30 isn't suitable for jigging , the gear ratio is way too high for winching .

Jon .

I have heard of a few issues as well but I think they were mainly early on. I wonder if they have fixed them?

Brandon ,

I personally know at least 4 guys who aren't too happy with their TwinSpin30 n that exclude Luke whom I have not met yet .

Jon .

don't they have a model with a lower gear ratio that is suitable for jigging? For me, it is mroe for information purposes than anything else. I cannot imagine I would switch from my 20000 for anything else on the market

I found the 6:1 Twinspin30 to hard for jigging with anything over 250gms :'(  but Cams father doesn't mind it :). I was waiting for the 4:1 model to come out but they knocked it on the head in favour of the 6:1 TS12 model which I passed in favour of the you beaut Stella 8000.  ;D ;D ;D

The guy to see is Scotty from Haven charters you would have a great day with him knows his stuff and hes pretty funny {looking} I told him to have a look at the site so hopefully he joins so he can keep us informed on whats going on. He said he got some good fish at the start of the week and the last 3 days he got 27 fish then 7 then 28 fish today so thats not bad fishing. There would be no problem organising a charter im a bit tied up for the next few weeks but if anyone wants to go that would be no problems I could let him no.
Ive got his phone number am I aloud to put it up?

hey guys cool site. Yep the jigging is certainly going off up here in
terrigal. In the last week i have a day of 27 fish / 7 fish / 14 fish / 7 fish and then yesterday i caught 28 plus a nice jewie on a jig also.
The average is around 4 kgs but i did get one over 15 kgs this week.
All my weekends are booked until mid august but i do have weekdays available at $ 660 a day for up to 6 anglers. if you are interested shoot me an email [email protected] or go to my website  www.havencharters.com.au
I have some photo's of some of my fish last week which i can email them if you would like to check them out - i tried to post them on this site but no joy for some reason.

Just got back from jigging charter caught 18, 3 over 8 kg. heaps of southerly current, drifting to the south against 20 knt southerly at 1.5 knots. very hard to stay on the fish. Sea large inthe morning but got better after lunch. I will try to put some pics on next few days.

Whats the fishing like in august off the reefs ?

I know that those of us livebaiting find bigger kings off the rocks during winter but fewer....is it the same offshore?

I'm in for a 4 or 6 pack trip :). I'm in Syd for the NRL GF and can fish either Sept 27, 28, 29 and Oct 1 or 2.
I would rather jig for Kingies than get kicked of Darling Harbour by Security guards like last year, just for catching trevers on SP under an old Submarine ::). 'BERKLEY FLICK BAITS SINK SUB'!!! :o ;).

Out from Terrigal the deep reefs go off June/july, 7kg would be norm with the occasional 10kg one thrown in, we usually have no trouble catching bag limits, august sees a run of smaller fish, still good numbers but lots of <60cm fish
