Most of my 'polarized hobby' was actually making Rx (prescription) polarised glasses.
The more reputable brands do make Cr-39 (resin) Polycarbonate or glass up to fairly high script strengths though GENERALLY only in single vision lenses.
If you are myopic (shortsighted) then single vision will work most times and keep the 'base curve' of the lens less than 8....6 or 4 is better.
Once you need readers, then bifocals or multifocals are needed and the flash mirror finishes, muticoating etc isn't as good or cannot be applied. You end up with a polarised lens without the extra coating perks.....goes with the more complicated lens unfortunately.....
