Saltiga GT vs T-Curve GT
April 03, 2009, 09:42:38 PM
I'm considering either of these starter rods in the $500 range.  How do they compare to each other and are there better rods that are better bang for bucks?  Will be used mainly for Kingies in NZ.

Chris....not sure about the saltiga GT but I have the T curve GT Special.

I used it when I went to Bali and Aceh...like the action of the rod

I think it works best for 120 g stickbaits and up to 150 g poppers...

for 500 bucks the rod has a really nice built I reckon and from what I heard and read the Australian market has the new version of it already out....

Hope that helps...

Hi Chris, looking at spreading your talents? ;D
I used the 'old' T-Curve last year at Marion which performed well [although never got tested on anything very big], the new ones are on a better more forgiving blank [supposedly].
Just leaving for the airport for a Nomad 'Bugatti' trip with Chopsticks old Komodo Dragon in tow, I will see if they have the new T-C GT on board and check them out.
  Until next week, YAHOOO  :D

Thanks for the feedback Bwanna and Bun.   Bent a T-Curve last week and from the descriptions here, I'm sure it was the new model.  So far no comments on the Saltiga GT.

I used to own a GT86. It was always too long for my liking so I sold it.

Hi Chris You can"t go wrong with the T-Curve.I have the old model which I use on kingis & it would just about be bullet proof. Not caught any big kings on it yet but have it put to the test on a bronze whaler that was well over the 150kg mark that it handled with ease.Good luck.
