Hi Brandon,

Thanks for the great report & images!

Awesome to see all of the big fish caught and read about how the trip went.

It looks like you had fairly good weather too which was good!

Thanks for the report - some top fish there.  Be interested to know what the formula is.

Brandon - in regards to knee pads, i'm not sure how comfortable those ones you have on are but there are plenty out there that are super comfortable to wear all day, these spring to mind -> http://www.beyondbikes.com/bb/ItemMatrix.asp?GroupCode=BG6X8092&MatrixType=1

Any particular lures or colours that shone during your trip?

Many mackeral or LT's around?

You've almost convinced me Travis but the price is a bit scary for knee-pads!!! Have you used them?

John, I perosnally much prefer the old dories. the new ones are faster and more comfortable in terms of their ride but I feel the old ones were better fishing platforms with the cage at the back. I find fishing off the back of the new dories quite dodgy, especially when the boat is rocking.

Travis - thanks for the link. I am actually looking for a new pair of knees pads as that other pair has fallen to pieces during this trip.

There were a few mackeral around but not too many and certainly, not as many as in previous years. We also saw a few barracuda with George Pang nailing a monster in a blue hole.

Bugatti has always been a good location for stickbaits but the water was quite discoloured this time. Amazingly, the most successful lure in the first couple of days were pencils. A few of the boys had great successful fishing a skittering popper called an Adhek long goby. This proved to be a real goldmine in the first couple of days. On my first day, we had somethng like ten fish in the boat and seven were caught on long gobys.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Haven't used those ones in particular Luke, i've read and heard they are very comfortable though.  The ones I use for riding now are pretty good but i'm still glad to get them off at the end of the day.  They are pricey but those are the top of the line with the special supporting on contact fabric - there are lower models (see the second link belwo, 661 Kyle Strait Slim Knees at the top on special for $AUS64)

Here's some better links Brandon, threw that one up as it was the first one to come up when I googled.

Boy, some of those kneepads look incredibly flash! I've never seen such fancy ones before. I think I will take my time and see what is available in the market. I got plenty of time to my next trip.

Brandon, great trip and report, I'm looking forward to getting there very soon.

Travis, the 661 gear is top of the line MTB gear ;), it will make very flash fishing kit too ;D

I was going to ask how that Adhek went...

it's nothing like those. The Adhek is a real surface stickbait but we use it as a skittering popper
