poppers for t curve 10-15kg
June 12, 2009, 04:51:08 PM
hey all
recently bought a new t-curve bluewater spin 10-15kg with a twinpower 10000 and 50lb tuf line and after a 5 day trip to the whitsundays and only catching big queenies and no GT's im looking tog et some bigger poppers. I was using some dumbell pop 150's and Halco roosta 135's obviously both very entry level lures and now looking for something that i will be able to  get a larger popper that i can cast comfortably and get some distance?

Thanks in advance
Nathan

Nathan, a much bigger popper may be beyond the capacity of the rod. You're going to hit the saturation point of the rod before you get to 100g, I think.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

How did the dumbells's and roosta's go with the rod? What sort of distance were you getting with those lures and the 50lb braid? Would love to hear some feedback.

Cheers.

yeah mate, The roostas and dumbell pops went great with the rod and line, I got about 60-70m out of the casts. got about 6 queenies but no gt's. all queenies wwere over a metre which was fun but will be back in a week on a mission to catch some GT's.

Cool! How does the rod match up? Oh the Cubera (popper) you can get in 80g which would be a step up from the others but I'd say that would be the rods limit.
