Lemax Rods

Just chasing a bit of advice, are these rods any good, what are they worth new ?? possibly getting one of a guy in WA for farily cheap.

Any advice would be great

from what i've seen of them in malaysia they're pretty much the same as xzoga rods..

Lemax rods are owned by one of the same owner that owns Xzoga but the technology and material used are totally different. I the past I have owned a few Lemax rods for soft plastics and lure casting and they are very reasonable for their price. As for their jigging rods i would rate them around the okuma's and probably priced similarly.

i'm looking at a brand new one for very cheap in perth, is the price an indication of the quality?? i think it may be

Tony, no harm in checking it out properly.

Get a nice full load on it and see how it feels. Check out the components and the binding - if it has decent Fuji components and particularly Fuji SiC guides, then you know they haven't skimped on the components. On the other hand, if they're something you've never seen or heard of before, then maybe give it a miss. Obviously, it is not going to be put together with the care of a rod from Fisherman but you can't espect that at the price. That's not to say though that the rod would not be capable.

I have a 8ft GTP and it's only rated to PE6.

Like Brandon said don't expect this to be a rain maker; the likes of any of the Japanese brands. It is not as light too.

It has a Fuji reelseat and their 'Hardloy' rings instead of SIC. The rod would be more suitable for stick baits instead of big cuppers as it has a rather soft tip.

It hasn't seen any GT action but was hammered down by those giant mekong cats in Thailand. Caught a 40kg on it and it tortured me below the stilts of the platform. Unfortunately, i don't have a pic of rod in action.

If you're looking for a medium, i'd recommend the Shimano Pencil Instrument which is of better construction and more backbone.

Just so you know, there are even fake Fuji guides and seats floating around in the Asian market, so don't take that as a given!

You can't substitute quality for price, guess many here would say the same.

I have used them when i learn popping several years ago, fair  blanks on its price , but dont see the rod spesification they over mentioned the rod capacity, 300-400 gr max lure??? some of my friends here used them too and they are satisfied with them ( on tight budged ) , they produce alot of type GT popping rod as i know 7,6 -8 - 8,2 feet length and have 3 variant all with fuji DPSM reel seat ,
Ferrari with  fuji al oxide BNOG guides ( cast good under 100 gr popper--maybe better  for stick baits ).. here ( in indonesia priced around Ausd 100 )
GT ( grand tournament ) with al oxide BSVOG  guides too same length and a litte stiffer maybe can cast 75-140 gr popper  ( in indo priced around Ausd 120 )
GTi have the same blank of gt but come with Fuji Sic but if forget the type i seen them on store once
as i know here . the ferrari 8 feet have caught up to 28 kg gt .. ( one of my friend in cilacap ind was find a group of gt average at 15 kg .. he caugt up to 32 gt in 6 hours and the biggest 28 kg )
the GT rod have raised alot of 20-25 kg GT the biggest 34 kg on krakatoa

that all i know about those lemax rod, may be can help if you want to use it
