Cam - I've responded to your e-mail.

Guys, it seems like some of you have really started stocking up already and the trip is ten months away! On stickbaits, can I suggest you guys think about big floaters, not small sinkers. A couple of small sinkers won't hurt as the reefies will love them but shallow water and sinking stickbaits are a bad combination.

If you're after big GTs and doggies, you want big stickbaits - ones like the Wahoo 150. Don't get too worried about carrying these around. They're freely available on the Odyssey. If you have some other big stickies, bring them along. I've foun a couple of the big stickbaits like the Adhek Goby and Plat Billy are more skittering poppers than stickbaits - but I think they will be dynamite in shallow water.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Cam, thats Brandons pic, but he can't see it ;D ;).
The Stella 10k feels differant to the 20k when casting/ popping instead of jigging, very happy with new rod and reel, with poppers and stickbaits, now all I need is bigger fish.

The Craftbait looks real good in the water, Rob, but what an expensive lure! It's got a fantastic action and I'm pretty sure they will work really well Marion. They are a floater but if you get enough weight on them, they will sink slowly. I'd be inclined to run a single off the back like a Jobu 9/0 or a big Spinoza 13/0 and maybe a Baker on the belly. They will float with this combination.

I've had a bug since my profile was established and I can't access some photos. I can't post photos direct either - I have to use photobucket and then attach the link for it to work. It's a real pain but we can't seem to identify what it is. Did you copy my photo of the baker rig and attach it your post?

With so many of us, I think there will be a few drinks flowing the night before we fly out of Hamilton Island to the Odyssey next year! Now you guys got me thinking of it and I have at least two, if not three other trips before Marion.

Cam,

I would ditch the swivels you have used in your first rigged stickbait - just my two cents.

Yer cheers Luke it looks way to bulky with all that gear on it and the hooks seem to be a long way away from the stickbait.
