Synit DeepShot Series
November 07, 2010, 08:43:13 PM
Just got back from NZ a few weeks ago and picked up my Custom Synit Deepshot 150g. Thought i would shed some light on these rods as they are not available in Aussie yet.

Synit developed the DeepShot range of jigging rods back in February 2010 after 18 months of serious testing around the world. The DeepShot range was a natural progression to complement the popular Synit Venom series.
Synit has incorporate two new designs in the DeepShot line up the ?Seriola? for Samson and other large Seriola species and Tuna Pro for BlueFin, Dogtooth and YellowFin Tuna. Both these rods have been designed to correctly work jig weights as light as 180g right up to 500g without jarring the angler or sacrificing action and power.
The DeepShot blank uses similar carbon technology to that of the Synit Venom's but the action is slightly more parabolic while gaining strength.

This Deepshot 150g is a awesome light setup for Kingfish, Samson, Tuna  upto 20kg and is becoming a favorite among Kiwi Jiggers who seem to be downgrading  to light setups, for more fun.
In fact the 2010 NZ Jigging Comp was won using a Synit DeepShot 450g which landed a 31kg fish. These rods are gaining popularity in Singapore as shown in the Kaiser Pro post landing Rompin Sailfish on a DS 150g and in the US on massive Bluefin Tuna using the DS450g

Hope you enjoy the pics of my custom Synit Deepshot 150g Antacid matched to a Diawa Saltiga SA15. These rods are also available in Spin versions.

Hi Anesh,

I'm very jealous, I think I want a DS150, I've been following the attention that Synit has been getting in the USA and NZ - it has been very positive.

Even better, a pair of the Deepshot Seriolas are coming to Perth/WA for the upcoming Sambo Season. We're expecting one each of the overhead and spin configs. Graeme took a break from the build process to take a few pics, here they are! We're going to review them on Tackle Tester as soon as we're back in from giving them a decent bend out at the sambo aggregations.

As an aside, anyone else think Tuna Pro is a weird name for jigging rod?  I immediately thought this would be casting rod!

Pretty sure the Seriola Pro is the Southern Hemisphere's Tuna Pro.

Seems there is plenty of Tuna jigging in the USA, half their luck!

Yeah, it does look like the same rod with different branding.

Hi guys,

I believe DS Seriola and DS USA Tuna 200 are the same blank but cropped differently.

The DS Seriola has been cropped to handle heavier jigs required when jigging for Samsons, Kingfish and Amberjacks.
