Just like to know if anyone has experienced gear failure in theirs, one of mine is gone totally after only a couple of smaller fish, and a couple of friends have had the same problems, to they're credit shimano is fixing it for me. I have heard that you can get a different gear in an o/s model?
I have an older 10000 fb that has never missed a beat and has taken a good deal more punishment than the newer ones.

Gears are all the same, no matter which country you buy the reel from.
