This is from a US mag that had a knot strength article and test. Not sure about the 12 turn bimini though, and I will stick to my usual number.

How many turns do you use Andrew?

I use 70 religiously.

I use between 60-70..depends if I lose count or not.  :P

On the doubles for my light spin rig 4 kg outfit, I use about 30-40 turns and then join that to the fluoro leader. On the light lines I don't think it makes as much of a difference as you cant put on that much pressure anyway. But definitely not 12 on any of my other spinning rigs. I havent had any of them fail at the double.

Hi all

I have tried to replicate the results in that article with zero success. In fact some of the tests were so low they where laughable.
Try a 12 turn bimini in 80 braid and you'll see what I mean!!
Stick with 50+

Here's another knot strength article, comprised mostly of information from Neil. I think the 12-turn Bimini might have some strength when tested at the crawl rate of a line-testing machine; a breakage that is rarely emulated in the real world! I'll stick with Neil's 50+turns recommendation.
