Saltiga Spartan
(1/1)
Mark Gwynne:
I was lucky enough to hold one of these in the local tackle shop the other day. Here I was thinking the Saltiga coastal range were a nice rod. The Spartans are amazing!! It's hard to imagine so much strength in something so light. They are well balanced too.
Anybody had the chance to actually use them? At 1K a pop they are outside my price range but I'm interested to see how they compare to other rods in that price bracket.
Cheers, Mark.
Kyle Stacey:
My missus got me one for our anniversary last november, it was the lighter of thw two the pe5 one, I put it in a similar class to the harimasa 63s which I also have but it is shorter and has a bit more power in the but and slightly more parabolic action. I used a saltiga 4500 on it as the 6500 was way too big for it (although I am yet to find the perfect reel for it yet) and caught heaps of reefies as well as spaniards on it at the montebello islands. I am sure it would go harder than the 4500 could and would like to see what its like with say a stella 10000.
Brandon Khoo:
the blanks on the Spartans feel fantastic but they really are serious dollars.
I only wish the rods had butt joints instead of being one piece.
