rod max drag rating?

I was also wondering if anyone can explain why rods of the same PE rating have different max drags ratings?

Here is an example from the Tenryu website. (http://fishing.tenryu-magna.com/en/offshore/spike_gt.html)

SK762-80 TUNA S 7'6"......   PE4-8  ......max drag 10 kg

SK802H-80 TUNA S 8'0"..... PE4-8.......max drag  15 kg

 I was of the thinking that the PE line rating gave you the strength which the rod can stand up to, but it appears not.   Can anyone demystify this for me?

Hello Alistair i would like to know  as well ? i thought if PE rating was for eg PE 10 then max drag would be a third but not the case i have a seed popper rod rated PE 10 max drag 14kg and a smith  komodo dragon which is rated PE12 but max drag is only 10kg so i would also like to know the purpose of the PE rating?
