Awesome stuff Brandon looks like the the trip of a lifetime, left me speechless, can only hope for the weather and the fishing to be half as good as that for Marion next year. A plus for your report.

thanks guys

John - yes, the curve in Malcolm's TBL is a beauty. While you expect rods like the WV and SP-UHL to stand up to any GT, these medium weight PE8 rods are works of art. I was amazed and what they could handle and in fact, they are probably a much better option for most anglers than the elephant guns. The other thing I like about this photo and the other photo of the angler almost being pulled overboard is that they really show what GT fishing is all about. There was an article this year in one of our local fishing magazines where they claimed a couple of photos were of anglers hooked up to big GTs. Well, they were 24kg rods and the bend in them indicated to me very small fish. To cap it off, the anglers were smiling!! GTs - yeah, right!!

Cam - with the tide we have at Marion, we just need to pray for good, calm weather. If we get that, it'll mean that we can get outside to the doggies and it really will be an amazing trip for all of us as that will mean we will have the full spectrum of fishing available to us. Theer is every chance of hooking onto huge doggies and GTs at Marion. Just need to keep your fingers crossed   :D

Hi Brandon ,

Rod technology progresses and likewise lure design , so you like the prototype stickbait which soon will be available in production version .

The photo are not all mine, Randy. As part of the service, what they do on ther last evening is get everyone's card from their camera and pick the best photos to share around. That said, there are a lot of my photos in there as I took some 350 photos during the trip. I don't use an SLR. In fact it is one of those waterproof Olympus 770SWs. These are fantastic for fishos because you don't care if they get wet.

Top read Brandon, as well as showing all the fun you had it gave a good insight to the trip. Fingers and toes crossed for GT's and Doggies at Marion next year. ;D
On one of this years trips they had physio doing massages, pity he wasn't on your trip with your back. ::) ;)
Did you use the Olympus at Shoalwater?

the hostess on the Odyssey (Cally) is a qualified masseuse.
I did use the Olympus at Shoalwater. It is a very good camera for these purposes
