There is a GT pond in Singapore that let you have a quick trill of GT Fishing. This is the pictures of a Black GT caught there.

How like the real thing are they? My limited experience of pay ponds with bred and released fish is that they are docile, easy to catch and have little fight.

They are not easy to catch. You need to cast well and low cast is required. The seems to prefer black colour rubber like Berkely 6" Pogy. The fight is strong and sharp so you can image the fight. But fish there range from 4-6kg and in some rare cases 10kg.

When will be back to Singapore again? Let me know, perhaps we can organise a session there.

I had heard that the fish had become very cautious after being caught numerous times!
If it swims; I want to catch it!

In Queensland there are quite a few spots where GT's have become landlocked.

They swim into these lakes (through drains etc) as junveniles then as they grow the become to big to get back out.

Like Brandon just said, they become VERY smart and VERY hard to catch.

Where in Singapore is this GT pond? I will be in Singapore later in the year and think it might be worth a look.
Do they have a website?

All that is good to hear.... if the  fish are wary it could be a bit of fun.

I seem to recall that there are two GT pay ponds in Singapore?

no website as far as I know. The pond is near Kranji on the Northwest side of Singapore if I'm not wrong . I've lost the owner's contact details. You do have to book beforehand.

They are quite hard to hook although I've seen a video of Kozo Okubo catching them on pencil baits. Gulps rigged like the one above is usually the go.
