Frederick Reef 4 August 2010

Glanville:- Had a bunch of guys who were keen to try and catch a mix of fish and hopefully a doggie so I decide to go do a little jigging it started off with a bang and on the second drop Graham got stuck into a solid Coral Trout of 8-10kg, we continued jigging on the reef and managed a couple of other fish before it slowed down, so we decided to put some lures in and hunt a new spot down we found a couple of good looking spots with bait and all the other signs of fish but bites were scarce so we had a lunch break and came up with a new plan, we ran to the other side of the reef where the current was running between 2 reefs and it wasn't long before we noticed a rippling patch of rainbow runners which is a sure sign of bigger fish in the area, game time, we finally found a patch of wahoo and managed to catch about 15 before the bite slowed down all the morning bordem was quickly forgotten as the guys cast their stickbaits into the madness. With a good weather forecast for the next couple of days and a fresh group of guys tomorrow the fish should be careful.

Nick:- We were on the same page as yesterday trying to get as many different species as possible using a variety of Sebile lures. With Patrick Sebile onboard we covered quite a few of his products and managed to land 9 different species yesterday. Amongst them being GTs, Amberjack, Job fish, Bluefin Trevally, Cod, rainbow runners, Scad, red throat and another species of bluefin trevally. This was a succesfull day despite the windy conditions early in the morning however the wind did start to die off in the arvo.
