Glanville:- woke up today with a plan to move to a new anchorage, the weather was terrible and we began our hunt battling against the 25knts of Easterly wind the first spot we stopped at was slow so we continued on our venture a little further towards the anchorage along a string of reefs, the first one we stopped at we had this crazy little session with packs of GTs coming up on shoals of bait...somehow we only managed to boat a shark mackerel between the carnage but we continued on and after the 3rd reef and some good action we decided to head back to the boat for lunch with a tally of 4 Gts a goldspot and a couple mackerel, a great effort considering the weather. The afternoon session turned out to be the favoured and we left the boat at 2pm in search of Gts only to return with broken bodies at just 4pm adding another 6 good sized GTs to fish to the tally great going and considering the painful weather we had a great day's fishing.
Nick:- With the weather behind us today made an easy day's travelling to the new anchorange. Our plan today was to take it easy and fish for GTs in the morning and then go on the light tackle assault in the afternoon. At the first couple of reefs we stopped at we managed to see a fair few fish but didn't manage to convert most of them. We managed to land another nice doggie on a stick bait of around 10 kilos which was nice to see. After lunch we went on to the light tackle and managed to bring home some nice red throat, along with our days catch of gold spots, sharkies and long toms. Not a bad day's fishing.
Saltaire:- Well the fishing today was a big improvement from yesterday. A couple of the guys we had on today still hadn't caught a GT, so that was our plan today. In the first ten minutes we hooked up to our first one, a nice 20kg model. The next reef we moved to had heaps of bait showering so I knew it was game on here. The first popper that hit the water had about 10 GTs fighting each other for it. We managed to land 3 more before they spooked. The next reef also saw a couple of pack attacks, so by around 1pm after 9 GTs everyone was broken. We decided to finish off the day with some light tackle trolling and landed half a dozen nice Spanish mackerel as well as a couple of gold spot trevaley. So overall it was a pretty good day's fishing.
