What is the Smith AMJ 52EX rated to?

PE4-8, Jig weight to 400 grams (struggles a bit above 350 though IMHO)

Must admit I use 250gm jigs whenever I can and I have never gone over 300gms - so can't comment on the 400gm rating.

Nice one Colin. Doggies are the best sport fish in the world for me (although that is probably sacrilege in this forum  .

That is one serious fish !!  kingies and sambos are fun but I gotta do some northern fishing soon it is driving me nuts 

The smith is looking like the front runner at around $500 to my door step - this exchange rate rocks
