just thought i would throw it out there...any ideas? local shop has twinpower 8k, and of course a couple of Saltiga's 4500 and 6500 exped. but....ouch.

I have looked at the same rod and thought stella 8000SW PG or Saltiga S-Extreme 4500.

Go the twinpower Keith, then you have the option of carrying spare 8000, 10000, 12000 or 16000 (SOM) spools to cover a range of line classes and retreive rates.

I would very much second Peter's Twin Power recommendation - gives you a heap of flexibility.
