Lures on the workbench
Angus Hulme:
G'day Fellas,
Some new poppers and sticks are rolling off my workbench at home, in readiness for another Whitsunday mission in early November. Thought you guys might be interested to have a look.
This motley bunch are made with a variety of timbers, most of which I don't even know the name of! As usual, my lure making methods continue to be an extremely inexact science. This batch still haven't received a clear top coat or the wiring system, so it's a work in progress.
Cheers
Angus
Peter Morris:
Seem to be getting better finishes each time Angus.
Some Very nice work there.
Pete
Angus Hulme:
Cheers Pete, after preliminary testing (in my swimming pool ;)), the swimming action of the stickbaits is somewhat erratic and varies from lure to lure, which is a sign that my construction methods don't allow any two lures to look or behave the same. No problem there though, I think that sometimes erratic stickbaits can be a trigger for wary GTs to have a chew on some timber.
Quite confident they will catch fish anyway. 8)
Mario Benedict:
nice paint job mate !
what wood did you make them out of ?
Mark Harris:
Some really nice looking work there Angus and I look forward to seeing pics of the completely finished product.
How are you coping with the drilling particularly with the longer pencils and sticks?
