I wouldn't bother with the mechanism Chris.

As mentioned, you can remove the bottom whilst the mechanism is locked.

The extendable bottom is changed and secured with a simple screw pin - which can be removed, locked or not.

There is a Carmate lock for the gullible yes

. Don't buy it though as the case is unlockable.
