Saltaire:- well waking up today to nice weather was a change. Unfortunately the fishing was a little slow on the marlin side hopefully tomorrow the big marlin comes along. We want a 1200 pounder.
Peter: Today turned out to be quite a pleasant day on the water. Our quest for a GT started of a little slow before lunch, only managing to boat 1 GT.
We also went for a bit of a troll this morning but unfortunately the fish we did manage to hook either had teeth and bit above the trace or got lucky and we popped the hooks. After having lunch on the boat at around 1, our luck finally decided to change and with more tidal movement the GTs started to become more apparent, managing to boat 7 all of good size. The best one was 28kg on the light tackle which we finally managed to get to the boat after a half an hour fight.
Damon:- A great start to the day with some frantic GT action, with 6 fish landed in quick time, then the tide slowed. The middle of the day was highlighted by lots of big coral trout, a 26lb trout on the GT rods, then a swag of 15-18lb trout on the lighter 40lb rods in the shallows, awesome fun.
We finished the arvo with another hectic GT session, landing 5 GTs from a heap of hookups, and some big fish lost. The best GT landed for the day was 28kgs, so it was highly enjoyable for all. Weather is getting better each day, and looking good for the next few days.
