he he ppl actually do that in northern Norway when Cod fishing in the winter.
Luckily it's "only" 0 degrees Celsius so it will melt soon ( I hope )

On the serious side...If the weather gets any better I wouldn't mind coming down to Denmark and let you have some fun with the rod..  would be fun to meet up again
