Glanville:- Started today with a plan to do a bit of jigging, things started off slow on the dogtooth front so we decided to down scale and go and search for some fish to catch on the lighter gear, we found a few fish but were just getting crippled by the sharks so I ran further into the lagoon to a spot that Alex had some good fishing on a few days back, first drop and double bending with the lighter gear the red bass were uncontrollable and every drop with octa jigs and we were bending we finished up there and headed back for lunch. The afternoon started off with a bang and second drop with a jig and we were hooked up to a doggie, we cast a few poppers and had a few lookers from a few other doggies and then they slowed down, we saw a sail jump and immediately put the teasers out raised the fish switched it over but unfortunately we never had a solid hook-up pretty awesome to see a fired up saily eat a pitch bait only 3 meters from the back of the boat...
Alex- Today we popper fished around the middle sand cay, saw some GTs, blue fin, red bass, trout, caught some, lost some. Then we did some jigging with more reefies and a small doggie. The arvo we found a good little jigging spot but the sharks kept eating them just before they came up. Real dandy.
Saltaire: - Well today started off a little slow. We were on a mission for a blue marlin everything was looking good. The water colour was perfect, bird action, tunas and flying fish. But after 4 hours there was no luck. We then decided to work a few shoals and deep edges for sailfish. We hooked a nice 30kg sailfish and the game was on after 10 minutes perusing the saily we slid the sail on boat for a quick pic and released him.
