Hi Warren i have not used an 8000 but with up to 44lb of drag and a quick ratio of 5 to 1 i reckon it would be fine for 50lb.The amount of braid you can get on one of these would be my only concern.Thinking of getting one myself actually i want the whole STELLA range before i pass on.    lol

My go to reel for medium jigging [50lb] on a T-Curve 200 with 150-250gm jigs, it would have to be my favorite reel to use of all my reels. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cam, I'll never get all the range because I keep just getting big ones ;) ;D ;D.

I got mine sitting right in front of me at the moment. I'd say you'd get about 250m of PE5 onto it. It's only a baby reel compared to a 10000/20000

There is certainly a big jump in size from 6000/8000 to 10000/20000, but as they say, all babies are beautiful

you're right, Greg. It's a real cute little thing. Next to the 10000, it looks like a bream reel! The one I got in front of me has never caught a fish. It just never gets used because I seem to only ever use the really big reels. The fact is you could load it up with PE6 Varivas GT and you could go fishing for some pretty respectable sized GTs with it.

Hey Gu - why don't you put up some photos of your poppers. That'll really get the equipment junkies going!

No unfortunately the spool setup for the drag system on the Stella is different from the Twinpower.

such a fun reel to use! i was a little bit bummed out that it only fit just over 200m of varivas avanti pe5 10x10. mite spool it with the pe4 10x10 next time round as i like that braid. it did fit 250m of suffix mtr braid tho.
