No unfortunately the spool setup for the drag system on the Stella is different from the Twinpower.

I thought the SW series for stella and twinnys could be interchanged? If not, that was lucky as i have been watching an 8000pg twinny thinking i could whack my 10000 spools on there if needed.

Mate of mine landed a 130kg BFT on a Stella 8k PG and I have seen that reel absolutely slay big fish. The smaller Shimanos pack serious punch. I horsed a 20kg+ GT from 80 meters with a older model Twinpower 8000HG with PE4 and the reel did not miss a beat. I'd imagine the SW8000 Stella to be an absolute weapon with a full spool of PE4.

What's the max you'd fish over a Stella 8000sw, regardless of som nl spool or otherwise? I've spooled mine with 50lb powerpro for kings so far, and will grab a no limits spool later on.

i preset/test drag at 12kg before heading out jigging kingfish. they still strip line like its nothing tho!! i don't run more than that only because that will max the rod out its matched to. got no dought it will handle more easy!

Guys I have the 8000 SW and love it , mine is spooled with 50lb 832 Sufix and I've knocked over some 20kg + GTs with it , they are a very neat package as sayed earlier not to heavy not to light but with all the poke of their bigger brothers they are just right for mid class rods , I've got a very neat Fox sport fishing Tarpon spin Trek 20-50lb 5pc travel rod I float around Australia with and the 8000 SW is a perfect match with it.

If your worried about line capacity, check out some of the 12000 & 16000 aftermarket spools from JM & SOM.

Best value aftermarket spool for the Stella 8000/10000 is the Twinpower 12000.

No no..... its the Nature Boys' RPS Spool! up to 16000, economical for the 2nd and 3rd spool onwards

Hah!  It's only economical if you want more than one spool!  8)

As an aside boss, as the Nature Boys spool is relatively new and SOM No Limits are such a clear market leader and hard to look beyond,  it would be great if you or one of your gang could post a review of the Nature Boys option here.
