stella 10k or 18k
(1/1)
dylan squarci:
hi guys.
im looking at buying a 2010 stella sw but i am unsure of the size. I will be using it as an allround reel for bottom bashing for trout and red emperor, popping for GTs and trolling for mackeral. I have been using an okuma Vsystem 80 but i am looking to upgrade as it is slightly too small. my question is: will i be better off with the 10k or the 18k.
Mark Harris:
All round I would probably say the 10K Dylan. But think about line capacity.
Brandon Khoo:
I think one of the questions you will also need to ask is whether you should be going for a PG model in the 10000 or a 20000 instead of an 18000. It depends on the depth and extent of bottom boucing you will be doing.
Peter Childs:
Dylan, definately go the 10000SW for that brief, you can always play around with spools for different line classes (8000, 12000, and SOM 16000).
As Brandon suggests, have a careful think about the retreive ratio which best suits you before you take the plunge. You can change the retrieve ratio to a certain degree by playing around with spool diameters! There is a big diference in the speed of retreive between an 8000 spool and a 12000/16000!
dylan squarci:
thanks guys. heaps of help. I think Ill get the 10k.
