I agree company's should not advertise misleading information to sell a product a Stella 20000 can not get 25kg with a full spool so why make out it can as far as full spool or empty spool they should be test with a full spool in my opinion as no body fishes with a empty spool of line by that time the game is over and i also do think a smooth drag is more important but at around $1000 each for one of these reels they all should have a very smooth drag as this is one of the most important parts of a fishing reel that's what made me by a Stella over saltiga the smooth drag straight out of the box both great reels but one has a better drag out of the box  ;)

The simple solution would be to advertise full spool max drag capacity and (near) empty max drag capacity, to be completely transparent.

Agree that it could be, and probably is a selling point that may sway someone towards a particular brand, but you would have to assume that the other large manufacturer is measuring and stating their max drag capacity in a similar manner.

I read somewhere a while ago the difference in max drag between full spool and near empty spool, and it was over double the kg's, someone may have an equation ???
