SBT on stickbaits Portland Victoria

(1/4) > >>

Kyle Stacey:
I fished with a couple of mates wednesday and thursday out of Portland south west Victoria. We started trolling to locate the fish and after some fun on the light tackle we started to cast stick baits (mainly saltiga dorado sliders). Some of the best fun  I have had in ages with great surface takes from bluefin and albies to around 20kgs. I was casting using a light saltiga jigging rod and although it worked fine the casts were short and we would have done better with longer casts. My question is what reasonable priced rod would be ideal for casting to bluefin to 30 odd kgs using a saltiga 4500 and 50lb braid.

Cheers

Kyle

Ben Furness:
Saltiga 80tn there are still a few around if you are quick.

Mark Harris:
Sounds like a tailormade task for a Daiwa Saltiga 80TN.

Very reasonably priced: http://www.7seasproshop.com/product_detail.php?keyword=daiwa_daiwa_saltiga_sg_dorado_80tn

I am not aware of any forum sponsor who sells this rod.

Uglystik Kyle.. Won't break the bank and won't break at all..!  ::) :P :P

No.. Seriously, whats your buget at? I'll swing past tomorrow with some rods and the prototypes for u to have a play with. Then you'll be able to have a clearer idea on what rod suits you more.

Ben Furness:
Thanks for posting that link. That shop has some great bargains.
