Not unexpected , Ben
Look on the bright side - you have the only TBL710/50 in existence
If it swims; I want to catch it!

On a serious note, that is really sad Ben :(

It does confirm though that you can work a sinking stickbait with anything!

Ben, sounds like you and I may be the proud owners of custom Carpenter GoPro sticks.......remove all the guides, bond on a camera mount and relish in the stardom of owning a highly desirable Carpenter GoPro holder!.....plenty of street cred there.

I have a lovely Coral viper CV 62/70 which does a great job of capturing the action and packs away really neatly.....being two piece and all!

.....no doubt, a real talking point!

You're right Mark, plus sinking SB are no brainers to work, with eyes closed, burn it or sweep/pause/twitch.
Next, I may try it out as a "long stroke" jigging rod, but don't know if I would be setting myself up for a broken back should a 40Kg doggie come along, now that the rod has "broomstick" flex.

Thanks Pete for the GoPro mount idea.

Imagine how a rod like this would be written in Kanji and then using google translate to engrish:

The TB 710/50 "The Backbreaker"
Many average GT fisherman ask for broken rod to float medium GT with difficulty. I say yes!
Even small GT your back be broken when lifting small GT.

Many ask, "I don't want to cast far", I present the TB 710/50! With much strength or even "throw fluffy" your lure will fly near you.
If you don't want to buy many lures, use only sinking bait like Pandora I will give you the TB - "Backbreaker".
Even if you try, other lures cannot be throw. That is how you save money.

For strong angler who want to feel old, the "Backbreaker" is for you. Floating small GT will feel like floating Tokara GT possible.

Hello fellas. Couldn't find much literature on the EP86/40.  Any info on this rod would be great. Is this a stick bait rod only? Thx in advance!

The nearest info that I have is, myself I have a EP 90/37 on the way,it was said to be a stickbait prefered rod but the captures I have found with this rod seem to be with poppers so far,,,,,,
I belive you can work both stickbaits and poppers all depending on size and cup face.
Personaly  I pop with rod tip up this takes a lot of pressure off the rod and angler

Mark, I have three Endless Passion rods but not this one.

Generally the EP range is more suited to stickbaits but you will have no problem working smaller poppers.  I would say stress again that this comment is not based on EP 86/40 specifically.

Mark,

I think this is only a relatively new rod in Carpenter's quiver.

Nick has only just this week got a stock of them in so I have had the chance to at least handle it. I have an EP 85/36 and my impression was that it was very much like a beefier version of that. As Mark H said, my EP 85/36 works 120g/140g stickbaits beautifully as well as smaller popperss and, from its profile, I suspect that this one will be no different just has a heavier sweetspot.

Regards,

Trevor

EP 86/40 is the heaviest model in EP range. EP series are series of versatile rods which can be used for variety of species and handles stickbaits as well as small size poppers as it is mentioned above.

Yes, my Endless Passion 88 have just arrived on my doorstep. Glad to acquire it just in time for my trip to Male next week. Like what Brandon have mention on his review, I hope to see my swimbait sail beyond the reef breakers. Cheers.

Any production for TBL84/22 this year. Since rated as PE3-5, may I know compare to BLC84/22 is it softer or stiffer in tip section since its rated as a GT rod.

Thanks in advance.

Hi James,

There is a production scheduled for the model late part of this year or early next year and yes for the comparison to BCL 84/22.

Cheers,
Tak

Hi Chris,

There is production for Gamma 160 scheduled in later part of this year but no specific dates information at this stage. My guess is sometime in spring month (sorry for people in northern side of equator :))....
It looks like they will be Diablo model and white will be one of colours they are producing this time.

Hi Amr, Thank you for pointing my typo! Will correct it in future updates.

Cheers,
Tak
