Sorry, I am not sure I understand your question.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Brandon do you know the history of the Irabuga evolution? And any idea why it is no longer in production?

That is a bloody old design, that one.
It won't take a lot of imagination to guess why it is no longer in production, Titahi!

Built like a south african prop? and not much chop for casting?

So its a lure that was just a stepping stone to something else?

There were other lures in the range that were proving more successful.

I think that is a matter of opinion. Don't forget what the EP range was designed for. It was designed for and specially targeted at the older angler so it has been designed with a very forgiving taper and profile. You can't have your cake and eat it too - what that very forgiving profile and taper means is that it doesn't have the lifting power of most of the other rods in the range. In this regard, I don't know how someone judges it as being more suitable for PE8.

Hi Daniel,

There are quite a few PE6-8 rods in a range and choice is not really about what is better or worse. It is all about purpose and preference.

You mentioned you are looking for 8.2ft rod earlier then CVs can be a bit short for your case as they are both 7.9ft.

Cheers,
Tak

Rods are identical. Just some relabeling to fix up the use of some anachronistic terminology
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Hello,
A quick question on rigging.  Will rigging an assist hook off the front split ring have a negative effect on the action of the Gamma Diablos, bluefish, or sinking Pandora?
Thanks for your time.

I have tried running assists of the front of a Gamma and Bluefish and it has a very bad effect on the swimming action. Not advisable in my view.

For Pandora it is fine.

Thanks, Mark.

Do you think if I fixed the assist via small rubber band to the middle swivel, it will make it work?

I am fishing in a tagging project for YFT next month and we will not be using trebles at all.

Ditto with what Mark said.
But I do run single assist off the back, using a Jobu/SJ41s/Kudako with the same weight as the recommended treble.
For the belly use the recommended barbless treble.
The tail single does not affect the swim action of the Gamma much, especially Gammas above 140grams.
