" No line out " was my way a long time ago , can't do it now except for the smaller GTs and here is what happened prior to WV80XH days : rodbreak1

I will test that BLC84/22R P-1 with YFT casting light lures and will report in due course .

That happened way back in 2003 when I was still practicing " no line out " technique and the rod was a UFM Deepwater , can't remember which one . Now I am not as strong as before and hence the change of my equipments , gone are all the SP n WV models , now only have PE 6~8 rated rods and below ( CV , EP , BLC , etc. ) .

Carpenter rods have evolved too , I am still digging around with the new concept rods , some may not be suitable for GT fishing near the reefs but in deeper water , some may still be usable . In my last trip to the Mollucast islands , the one that I got " reefed " was with CV79/40RF SHP with initial drag setting of 10 kg n meanwhile I survived a 30 kg speciment was with BLC84/22R P-1 with a mere 6 kg initial drag , it depends on the fish where it decides to run .

I would suggest that a GT could break any rod at the butt join if the user fishes in a complete "no line out" fashion. It's operator error  .

With some new sea fogs (120gr ) around I was wondering if my BLC 80/35 is too much of a stickbait rod to handle one ? Can someone please advice me , thanks.

If you are asking about 3 piece rods, they are still on testing stage and no plan for the production yet.

I have actually started post testing report on http://www.carpenterlures.com.au/. This will be typical Carpenter reports - photos with short message but will give you some idea what products may be available in the future.

Lenny,
I don't think carpenter have what you want. The only jigging rod from carpenter is the One Hundred series. All PE 5-8, 5'2"-5'6" length.
