when you look at it like that you realise how close you were to wearing that treble in the eye and how lucky you were. As for the royal wedding i've not happy because me friday night footy gets delayed

It's only delayed by an hour, so it's not the end of the world.
Just means that the BBQ plate will have time to be cleaned after dinner tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow morning as per usual!

Ouch, nasty picture. 
Since the hooks were barbed, were they a pain to remove? or did they come out rather easily?

We used the method where you tie/wrap some heavy mono around the curve in the shank and press the eye of the hook downwards (towards the skin) so that the barb is "lined up" with the same angle as it went in.
Then you give an almighty yank and they come out pretty cleanly. The treble near my mouth had 2 on the hooks in quite deep, so he had to pull extra hard.

It all sounds very graphic, but it's quite easy and not as painful as it sounds. You tube has some videos that demonstrate it.

Hi Rhet, don't want to detract on what is a good trip report but if the GT in the first pic is the one you're referring to as 27-28kg then I think your estimate is a little off. Anyway, thanks for sharing, looks like a great place

The first pic is the fish I was referring to. This estimate was basically taken from what the bloke reckoned who i was with who has caught a few........as it was my first I would not have an accurate idea.

By all means, please let me know what you think it would weigh. It will only help educate myself and those others who want to learn as much as they can.
