New Blue Chaser Power Max models
May 27, 2011, 12:15:45 AM
I would like to inform you of two new Blue Chaser Power Max models coming later this year or early next year.

BLC84/25 R-Power Max
Length: 8.4ft
Line: PE3-5
Lure: 20-80g
Drag Max: 11kg
Weight 352g

Rod action can be viewed on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/user/carpenter55551#p/u/14/ljZoplrVk28

BLC 80/35R-Power Max
Length: 8ft
Line: PE5-8
Lure: 60-160g
Drag Max: 14kg
Weight 365g

Rod action can be viewed on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/user/carpenter55551#p/u/15/puuFW4Arur8

'Power Max' models are type of rods with stronger butt section than other models for the same cast weight class in a series.

Compare to BLC 84/22 R-Power-I for instance, 80/35R-Power Max can cast similar lure weight but has lot heavier butt section and also BLC84/25 R-Power Max can cast very light lures from 20g but still has slightly stronger butt section.

These two models will be particularly useful when big fish are hunting only small bait.

I'll update this thread again when I have better information about production dates.

Cheers,
Tak

Hi Marc,

I wasn't thinking to bring BLC83/16 but I'll have a check if any rods are available.

Cheers,
Tak

I'm personally looking forward this rod too! :) We are thinking this rod maybe good for other spices like tuna or Spanish Mackarel etc as well.

Sounds like it could be a good stickbaiting rod for GT's?

I haven't seen rod yet but by reading Brandon's review of heavier BLC 83/40 R-PM, this may not be suitable for GT. But will see when it turns up!

I'm really liking the specifications on BLC84/25!
Do you think stella 5000 will be ok with it? Otherwise what reel size would be ideal?
Thanks in advance =]

Hi Jason,

I haven't seen the rod yet but it looks to me Konishi san is using bigger Stella than 5000 size on the above video. I think Carpenter's recommendation will be probably around Stella 8000 / Saltiga 4000 size for this rod. I'll confirm it when I speak to him next time

Cheers,
Tak

Just spoken to Konishi san.

He likes to use the following reels on each models

BLC 84/25R-PM >>> Shimano 10000-12000 size
BLC 80/35R-PM >>> Shimano 10000-18000 size
