Tuna Jigging Sydney
June 20, 2011, 10:39:46 AM
After a couple of cancelled trips due to bad weather we managed to get out yesterday and do some jigging out wide. Only managed a couple of albies on the Jig which were good fun on the PE4 gear. My mate hooked a monster on a cube which hung on the surface for a little while before diving 700 meters under heavy drag and popping the trace. It was pretty rough in the morning but the wind and swell dropped off in the afternoon.. Though we didn't see any yellow it was nice to be out on the water.

nice Patrick.

A friend of mine is out there now i think hopefully getting into them.

if it's ok me asking,

what jig did the damage on the Albacore in the photo?

any idea at all roughly on how far down or roughly at what depth you dropped the jig down to when you hooked up?

No problem Sam, it was a 200 gram black magic jig in pink.. the fish grabbed it on the drop about 100 meters down i guess..
