They're both superb. In my oppinion Carpenters offers a greater variety of models to suit different popping situations and are more dedicated toward GT popping.

Considering that there haven't really been any new updates to Fisherman for a while, and that they are still bloody superb rods (amongst the top in the market in terms of action and not just finishing and craftmanship), they must have been really advanced when they first came out moons ago.

The T-RSH is still something I dream of. Carpenter and Fisherman seem to have different approaches in that Carpenter make it very clear what a certain range of their rods are specifically meant for. With Fisherman it is a little less clear cut and sometimes it feels like you might need a guide to get you through their entire range  8)

Is there anywhere that shows the actual weight of the Fisherman rods?

Carpenter is one premium brand who has been constantly refining and upgrading their rods for various types of fishing.. whilst Fisherman, sad to say, it seems like they've become really stagnant.. just my 2cents..

Is there anywhere that shows the actual weight of the Fisherman rods?

I have looked long and hard but it seems this is not a matter they consider significant. I am guessing they are heavier than your equivalent carpenter or ripple fisher offerings. It would be good to get this info as they sure look like they have beautifull actions. If you want to see some rods at the lighter end of the spectrum look at the newest FCL Labo offerings.

Indeed Andy, a friend is in the process of purchasing the FLC 81 EXT. Waiting in anticipation as to how it will cast as all the feedback so far is positive.

I think Fisherman seem to have become "stagnant" because if you have a top quality product you do not need to keep upgrading. The Carpenter range also can be described as such. The original WV and SP series did duty for a hell of a long time. Smith KD and Tokara the same. At that level they are all tremendous rods
