Musandam Boat Refurb
August 02, 2011, 10:34:32 PM
After many years of service and thousands of GTs caught along with a heap of other good fish. Al Sayyad (name means the fisher in Arabic) our boat in the Musandam has been sent for a total makeover. The boat is a 40ft Seamaster built by Hareb Marine here in Dubai. Hareb is one of the most prestigious and oldest builders in the region.

She has been an amazing boat and has put on tens of thousands of miles over the years. We travel on average 120 miles in a day so work in out over a season the distance she has safely taken our clients and staff. She is able to take on any sea with ease. In this region the swell is usually a short chop and you require a boat 35ft or above to make the ride a comfortable and safe ride. So you find that most of the boats in this region are longer than average.

We thought it was time to refurb Al Sayyad for the coming season. We have put on two new Suzuki 4 stroke 250hp engines along with new electonics. The boat has been totally gutted and all of the wiring, pumps, electronics, lights, canopy, rod holders etc have been replaced. We are also adding a few more rod holders and will have a total of about 36 rod holders once we finished, plenty of rod storage space! She has new gel coat and will be ready for action in 2 weeks.

We are going to start the season early as there is already some signs of GTs and sailfish showing up in the Musandam. We have also refurbed our Villa and Lodge GT House in the Musandam with a new fire pit, bathrooms, tackle storage, gas and coal BBQ etc. Check out the new GT Bar that the guys made for my Christmas present!! Love it a few cold beers with some Longtail Tuna sashimi! Nothing wrong!

We are ready for the season bring it on! Looking forward to all the trips in Musandam, Southern Oman, Maldives, Andaman and the sneaky new destinations that we will launch this season. Just add GTs!

Howzit Martin,

Give us a shout when you keen to come over. We have been working on upgrading all the equipment, all we need now is to add a few GTs!

Cheers,
Nick
