Tuff Tackle Diablo 10000 reveiw
July 24, 2011, 09:43:11 PM
Took one to Solomons and it lasted just one day. It just totally jammed up, looked like the handle shaft bent and pulled to one side, thus jamming the internal gears. It also felt really gritty and not free like a quality reel. I was so suprised in it's misereable failure thast I checkerd under the spool and there was a serial number that the owner of Tuff Tackle seems so concerned about. After reading his bloggs, I decided to get rid of it to a local villager and not bother with the warranty - seriously, I wouldn't trust it again, just not worth it. I'm an ex commercialishermen and should know bwtter that to trust hype  Also killed a Big Boss 9500 but that only cost $80 bucks so not so pee..d off I've learn't my lesson and will take a stella next trip, no substitute for quality!!

Steve, thank you for your post. After the experiences we had the last time the virtues of Tuff Tackles reels were discussed, this may seem a somewhat odd position for gtopping.com to be taking but we do try to be balanced.

It is a shame that you chose to dispose of the reel but we would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to post some photos of the damaged reel if they are available. In the same way that we require members to justify statements around reel failures with Stellas and Saltigas, we need to extend the same courtesy to Tuff Tackle in this regard.

Simon Ball, the owner of Tuff Tackle will quite justifiably question the veracity of your claims. If you can't provide photographs to support the assertions you have made, gtpopping.com will reserve the right to remove the thread.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Hi guys,  this post seems to be in the wrong area.  Fish Head do not sell Tuff Tackle Diablo reels.  If it could be moved to the general tackle area that would be great.

Steve we would be more than happy to help when you are looking for your new reel.  Fish Head only sells reels that we can back up with excellent warranties and good personal experience.

Cheers,

Janelle

Hi Guys, sorry but no pics. I was so disappointed that I just gave it to the fishing pro at Zippolo Resort on Lola island. (he is going to try and fix it) Seriously I didn't want it fixed because I just can't trust it. I was going to buy a Stella but I decided to give the Diablo a go. BIG MISTAKE -I did post on another site also to warn people, seriously guys they are just not up to the job - as I said before, the handle shaft looked bent and the shaft had moved sideways which must have pulled the gears out of alignment and jammed all the internal gears

PS - I was seriously overweight with all my other gear and just decided not to bring it back - I just couldn't trust it again. After saving up for my holiday and all the extra gear I took, I took a chance on this reel and it was a miserable failure - I could kick myself and so that is why I didnt bring it back, I was so annoyed with my decision to take a chance on an un proven reel, that I felt like throwing it over the side. I have no affiliations or any axe to grind, they are just not up to the job and it was a major bummer to have your number 1 spinning reel blow up within the first day. As mentioned previously, the bail arm on the big boss 9500 broke the next day, but I only paid $80 for that and it was a spare

Big reduction.....Not real surprises though.

From what I have been told they are only available online and not available through any shops.
That will tell you something......anyway this is an old topic that keeps coming back up to bore us.
