yamaga blank atlas
chris coates:
i just got my new rod in the mail today and I'm wondering weather the top section should fit into the but better than it dose. it fits almost till the gloss then becomes tight about 1.5cm short.
is this normal?
is it a problem?
if so can i fix it?
chears
jonathan_tan:
Hi Chris,
The fit is fine. This is the case for most rods. As long as it is not easily pulled out or twisted around, it will not come out. Not a problem at all.
which model of the atlas did you get?
Cheers!
chris coates:
I got the 76/8 it feels sweet but I'm yet to put the hurt on a fish with it.
Ah phew! I was worried that it was a dud :D anyway chears Jonathan
jonathan_tan:
no worries!
have fun with the rod!
Sam Loh:
Hi Chris, although I have only seen it landed a 30kg GT, 76/8 is an excellent rod, light weight and ideal length for small boat. Punch 120g popper to 70m with ease, ideal popper range around 100g-130g. Stickbait wise max out at 150g.
If possible apply a bit of wax at the ferrure end before inside the blank into the butt join to prevent slippage. I use the one from Smith.
Have fun
