xg or pg or hg

Dear all,

For shimano reels I know the PG recommended for jigging and I have read strong opinions for those from jiggers.  I also know xg and hg recommended for popping and stick baits - but don't hear so many strong opinions.  Does it make a huge amount of difference having 15-20% line per handle turn?  Does the better cranking power on the fight somewhat outweigh the benefit for working lures (no good if you need the extra speed to get a strike LOL).  I  read here of 10K often favoured over 18k for PE8 on rods like EP and CV which gives a 7% reduction in line per turn - is that noticable?  Last question (sorry), does line per turn increase with addition of SOM16000 spool on 10K stella?

Thanks in advance

Graham
