Bugatti Reef Lagoon Explorer 16 Aug 2011:

Glanville:- Started off the day with Brandon, David and Bernard all ready for a GT onslaught, we fished some amazing water first up and unbelievably battled to find a fish, I ventured on to our next piece of reef where immediately a big fish of around 40kg came and had a look and soon after another before we got the hooks stuck into the first fish for the day, each reef we went to we consistently saw fish but they were coming up behind the lures very lethargically and not interested in the slightest at having a go and it seemed the fish that did have a go were very half hearted and we couldn't get the hooks to stick in them, all in all a ittle frustrating today seeing the fish but not managing to catch them, we ended the day with 4 and a mixed bag of other fish....think they waiting for the change in the weather tomorrow and it should be game, one thing we did manage to put into the boat today was a mudcrab....think it might have been a little off the track.

Peter: Started off the day with Marcio, Cezar and Stephen all keen to get amongst the favourable run in tide for GTs first thing this morning. We were fishing some awesome water on the run in with bait patches everywhere but the GTs seemed to have lock jaw, coming up and having half attempts at the lures. We managed to hook but unfortunately loose a few fish up until lunch time. The run in tide once again proved tough but we finally managed to stay connected to a few nice fish boating 3 GTs and a nice size Spanish for dinner. All in all tough day in the office tomorrow's another day though and when they decide to eat we will be there.

Nick:- Today was hard work, Ken, Allan and Stewart had their work cut out for them this morning with many casts yielding little rewards with a few fish being raised but the same hesitant attitude that the other boys were experiencing. We were moving around looking for fish that were game to play the game and not just lookers. We had an early lunch to kill some time and wait for the tide and finally noticed some run out. Driving along edges that looked so good with signs of bait but for some reason or the other there was no fish to be seen. This was the scene for the rest of the day we plugged away and only managed to land four fish up till 2:30. We had one more spot to try for til the close of play and when we got there the game was on with fusies everywhere and first cast double bending! Next cast double bending!
Gt mania patch after patch we were raising fish Ken, Stuart and Allan found their second wind and they were casting as if it was the first hour of the first morning all the fatigue had disappeared! It was awesome to see the fish eating properly for once we tried a second drift but the fish reverted back to their weary behaviour and were reluctant to come up. On the way home we managed to get stuck into some mac tuna and while Stewart was fighting one it was under the boat when an absoloute monster of a Spanish mackerel that would have easily have passed for 40 plus kilos demolished the macky in one go and cut us off, that was definitely the biggest Spanish I have ever seen what a monster. Ended up with 12 GTs for the day along with some sharkies, coral cod, wrass, diamond travelley and mac tuna so it was a cracker day considering the overall conditions.

John Dory:- What a difference a day can make, after yesterday's chaos George, Rob and Joey where keen to get amongst the action, straight up this morning we had some awesome Mackeral action with Joey going 2 in 4 casts with the biggest being around 20kg, a short time later George caught and ripped a Spaniard into the boat in record time of just under 20kg the poor fish never had a chance with his strong arm tactics which was awesome to watch, after that the fish went into lockdown for a few hours before George managed to bring in a nice 20kg model GT and things started looking up, the fishing was very patchy for the afternoon with a few more being raised and George ripping another GTs head off but all in all today was a little quiet.
