Whitsunday's

Hey have a trip plained at the start of october at the Whitsunday's on my mates sailing boat. Will be sailing around the Whitsunday's then will be sail the boast back down to the Sunshine coast. Was just wondering if anyone could maybe give me a place where the is some good GT fishing is or some must go to spots. Any information will be handy thank you.

Sounds like a good holiday.

I found the Taylor brothers very helpful on my short trip up there, try and read their reports or email them. Unfortunately the weather was blowing pretty hard when I was there.

I'm by no means an expert but I have fished around the west side of yiundalla island and neighbouring island buddi buddi island, they a small rocky outcrops which drop away quite deep and has a lot of current. It's about 100m long and we trolled for mackerel out the back while two threw poppers out the front for gts.

Also try windy bay opposite whitehaven beach in the eddys and current.
