Peter: Today we woke up to unbelievably favourable weather. Everyone was pumped for a good day on the water. We set off first thing in the morning on the search for some GTs and it wasn't long before we managed to get right in amongst the action. We boated 6 nice size GTs before lunch and popped the hooks on many more. We also got demolished by a doggie that would have been around the 45kg mark but unfortunately weren't able to set the hooks in the beast. With the tide starting to push in after lunch doggies were on the menu so we trolled around. Not managing to land a doggie but we caught a 12kg trout, three big Green job fish, 2 Spanish and a couple more GTs. At the end of the day we gave popper fishing 1 more crack and managed to land a GT that went 38kg, which was an awesome way to finish up!!
Clint: It was like a sheet of glass on the water today picture perfect and bubbling bait on every ledge you could see. The first reef we hit fusies were boiled up in the shallows and the boys had a blast popping for GTs in shallow water with some amazing takes. The light tackle was great too on the deeper edges we got blue fin trevally, trout and mackerel. The water was that clear we could see the fish under the boat and the boys could almost pick the fish they wanted to catch - now that was pretty cool! In the arvo the sharks must have sensed the commotion from earlier in the day and we lost a lot of fish to them. A fun day on the water.
John Dory:- Glamour conditions today meant things were off to a good start, our first edge we popped produced straight off the bat with half a dozen GTs up to 25kg and more were to follow the fish were hanging around the boat like a group of middle aged women at a Kiss concert!!! We managed to boat a few more GT and bluefin trevally along with some cracking jobfish before the fish started to shut down around the turn of the tide, during this period we trolled some skirts along the outside edge in search of a marlin before back to the popping for the arvo run in tide, unfortunately after raising a few GT and catching a nice trout the sharks played havoc with our lures and forced us into early retirement before one last GT around 20kg rounded out a top day's fishing with a neat dozen and some great by catch, and smiles all round
Nick:- Well the weather was again tops today with 5 knots all day we had to go for short reef tours to keep ourselves cool. The morning was great with fish throwing themselves at our lures the game was on. We threw the light gear for most of the day and had a pretty good conversion rate. The highlight of the day had to be the 12kg trout that Stuart got on his light outfit what a cracker! The variety of fish today was awesome to see everything from red bass, trout, GTs, job fish, blue fin, long tom and spanish mackerel. After lunch the fish seemed to shut down all round for some reason and we battled for the rest of the day but the amazing weather made the slow bite bearable for sure. Awesome up here!!!
