Roosterfish and Cubera Snapper are 2 fish on my 'bucketlist'.

I guided a French client in 2002 who caught Cubera up to 65lb on poppers in Panama just before he came to chase GT's in Australia.  They are a fantastic looking fish!

Great to see some other species that you don't see too much of.  Thanks for sharing.

Cuberas and roosterfish are huge fish sure, but the best for me in panama is Yftuna on poppers following dolphin, when i come back in April i hope to find a lot's of groups.

Yes the fish on photos are not so big but i saw the attack of a big one who breaks the 80 lb line immediatly.







In Panama Yftuna are the best solutionto enjoy yourself.

Hi Vincenzo and everyone else,

I fished out of Pedasi a week or two before you guys. My third visit in two years actually. This time we had less action with both cuberas, roosters and jacks, BUT the fish we did catch were bigger than normal. Actually my group caught two roosters around 40 kilos - about twice the size of what I have seen before

We also had lots of unusual species caught on popper; sailfish, wahoo and bull shark!? On jigging we had a lot of amberjacks and a some nice broomtail groupers. My personal best catch was a couple of hours of great yellowfin action. Had a few 20 + fish, lost a very nice 50 plus fish after a spectacular strike and a short fight. Best fish landed was around 33 kilos and my best so far.

Panama is fantastic, even without gt and doggies. In two weeks I have a day of popping booked in the Musandam with O.A so hopefully I will see some gt-action too this year.

I saw all this fish and you are very luky to find very good wether condition, to go often to punta puerco, and im am sure olso, after speaking with the guides, that your group was expert fisherman also.
