Sunline Pe lines

Hi Guys,
I was just wondering what peoples opions are of the Sunline Pe lines, I am part of EJ Todd's pro staff and use this brand exclusively. Now whilst this Brand seesm to have a strong following in the lightter breaking strains it doesn't seem to be mentioned at all on these boards.

I have recently set-up a popping outfit and after a bit of thought I decided to spool up with Sunline Super PE 8. Not many people maybe know but Super PE (which is a popular mid priced line) switches from 4 strand braid <40lb to 8 Braid in lines of PE 5 (50lb) up. I like the white colour (one of three choices) as this is the raw fibre, without any paint or dye, and it seems to be a little smoother, limper and marginally thinner than the Fluro yellow or drak green. Best of all a 300m spool retails for under $100, for an 8 strand PE!

Sunline also offer another line, fresh to the market call Castaway monster Battle PE, this is an 8 braid, consisting of 4 strands of high grade dyneema and 4 strands of a PET type material with a special surface resin treatment which increases the lines smoothness and also addes abrasion resistance and a touch of memory (good for spinning reel spools). I can image that this would be the choice of GT anglers looking for an alternative to other top shelf lines. Castaway MB PE is not cheap, your looking at around $200 for a 300m spool.

I have found castaway a good line. I thought my other line was sunline PE but its yellow rather than green..so not sure what I bought, whatever it is it winds knots a lot more than castaway

Sunline's lack of "presence" on this forum (and others) has often surprised me. Not only for their PE lines but also their leader lines.   A lack of marketing outside of Japan I guess?

The price on that Castaway Monster Battle is very high.  I buy 600 metres of Varivas GT Max PE8 for $200!
