Re: PE 2-3 Rod to suit Stella 5000SW?

Haven't checked the max drag on mine but I agree it can be used on those rods. It's an incredibly strong little reel and has served me well already. Specs state it can take 13 kilos of drag, more than the FA and I would bet money it will put more drag out with a full spool of line than 5 kilos.

Hi Mark, Thanks for replay.
I checked both of my spool and the result has been the same. So, I understand now that SW version has a stronger drag compared with FA version (never played with 5000SW). I love my stella 5000 FA (it's now 5 years I fished whit) and I think, hope, it will service me for other years. But, at now, I will stay whit the class of rods mentioned before.

Kaiser's Lightcast 70M is only available in blanks.

We have since launched LightCast 73H in the form of factory rods.
The specs are:
PE2-4, Lure 30-90g, Max Drag 8kg, Length 7'3"
Action: Fast

Recommended reel to go with this rod would be Shimano 5000/6000 size.
I love having PE4 lines on this set-up.
This rod work poppers and swimbaits well.

Here's how the rod looks like and some of the fishes caught on it before.

Completely different level of rod but I run a Stella 5k on a Nitro Viper (7ft, 6-8kg rod).  Perfect for pinging slices out to macks and tuna and throwing hardbodies or SP's for reefies, queenies etc or i've even run it for barra in the dams.  It's not top end but I really like the combo so far, perfectly weighted and does the job.  Looking at half or less of your budget.

me to travis, such a nice combo. I have the 5pce travel, you would never know. Stops southern kings, snapper and sharks

I also use the SW5000 with an 80TN which is a bit borderline on the heavy side but its really light, nice for all day sessions

I have a Zenaq Fokeeto Twitch 70-3 which I run a hyper certate 4000 on but thinking about getting a Stella 5000SW instead. I fish it with PE3 and it is a great light outfit, really beautiful rod to use

if you got a Hyper Certate 4000, you don't need a 5000 Stella, Scott
...... and I just realised I forgot completely about the spools!

Yeah I know I don't need it Brandon but...well I haven't bought any fishing gear in a while hahaha

I don't mind the Hyper Certate but having used the new 5000SW recently I think it is a little nicer. Maybe hold off and buy a stickbait rod and a 10000SW instead
