Hi Mick,
I would match it with a Stella 8000 or equivalent to that, some of our clients match it with a Stella 5000 but i feel the rod is under rated and can take more heat to be paired with an 8000,
That KGS-70MH is been accounted to land some nice descent fish in the past and still till nowadays, a good choice ;)
Mark Harris:
A friend of mine uses a KGS70MH a lot and pairs it with a Saltiga 4500 loaded with PE4. Seems a well balanced set up, but I think some folks fish this rod a bit heavier than that.
Andre van Wyk:
Mick - I agree with Sami, that a 6000/8000 size Shimano would be the winning ticket.... I fish a 6000FA with an 8000FA spool on my OR STK76 which is a similar rod ( Sami correct me if I'm wrong, but they are fairly close right? )
Try PM Nick Bowles of Ocean Active, his KGS has caught more big fish than I've had hot dinners! I think he fishes an Accurate SR12 if I'm not mistaken....
Mick Cunningham:
Thanks for the helps ..
i'll pair it with my Twinpower 8000HG reel that i have ...
and head out for a test spin ...
can't wait ;) :)
