Smith Rods - Which One?
Steve Li:
Smith HIIB Rocket. Its rated PE12 and lure weight of 300gm. Amongst the Smith heavy popping range, the Rocket is the latest and lightest model. ;)
Mark Harris:
(I have heard mixed reports on the Smith HIIB Rocket).
PE12!!! As Brandon would say, "are you water-skiing"?
I can't think of one instance when GT fishing, when I actually thought "PE12 would be nice right now".
But, if you really want to fish PE12 with that size lure, then a Smith Rocket might be worth a look. Certainly more so than a Tokara. Also well within your $800 budget would be a Kaiser El Toro 180 (see sponsor Gara Pro Shop).
To be frank, I am sure there are others here who are more qualified to advise on fishing with PE12 rope than I am...... I hate it!
Warwick Joyce:
Ben, as Mark mentioned have a look at the Kaiser El Toro 180. Casts the range you stated and definitely in the price range.

There is also the Saltywater Racepoint 250, however is falls just short in your lure weight.

Both of which I think Gara stocks
happy shopping ;D
Ben Rivers:

Brandon Khoo:
